Bowtech® Bowen Therapy
The basic Bowen moves of Bowtech®, the original Bowen technique, address the lower back, upper back, and the neck. A session takes between 30-45 minutes, with a follow-up session in seven days. A series of sessions may be recommended depending on the presentation(s).
What is Bowen?
Bowen Therapy stimulates energy flow and circulation. The entire organism, including all its inner organs, is affected by the procedures via the autonomic nervous system (ANS). Depending on the signs and symptoms, there are a variety of specialised procedures used.
Bowen Therapy assists with detoxification and improved digestive processes. Balance of the ANS means downregulation of stress responses (fight/flight/freeze), which enables the parasympathetic part of the ANS to regulate bodily functions as intended.
Bowen moves are gentle, addressing the fascia, which overlays every bone, muscle, organ, and cell. A series of moves is followed by a two-minute pause, allowing time for the electrical impulse generated by the movement to travel through the nervous system to the brain. Once the message is received, the brain will initiate a message to the target area to repair and heal. This allows the body to repair itself to its ‘original blueprint’ (as nature intended).
