Cat & Canine Muscle Release Therapy (CCmrt™)
Animals respond extremely well to this very gentle, non-invasive form of bodywork.
What is CCmrt™?
Alison Goward, the founder and principal of ECL&R (Equine College Learning & Bowtech®) developed EMRT (Equine Muscle Release Therapy) and CCmrt™ in line with the principles of Bowtech®. These courses are the only accredited Bowen Therapy for horses and small animals worldwide. It’s a gentle, non-invasive therapy for your cat or dog.
Cats and canines are athletes and are subjected to stress and strain. This creates underlying problems, which in turn produce the small animal’s physical symptoms. CCmrt™ works on the cause, helping to alleviate the symptoms. It is a wholistic therapy which works on the sympathetic and central nervous systems to bring the whole body back into a natural state of balance and homeostasis.
A CCmrt™ Session
A CCmrt™ treatment consists of gentle, rolling, sequential moves made by the CCmrt™ practitioner over key points of the small animal’s body. Before beginning, the practitioner records your animal’s health history. Only gentle, non-invasive assessments are used to build trust. If the animal shows discomfort at any point, the session ends for both the animal’s and the practitioner’s safety.
What to expect from a CCmrt™ Session/Treatment
Veterinary permission is requested prior to a session/treatment.
Each session starts with a case history and thorough assessment to assess the muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems of the small animal.
A session/treatment will normally take approximately one hour.
It is recommended that an animal have two consecutive sessions, seven days apart, and a third session 10-14 days after the second treatment.
Sessions are structured according to the requirements of each individual animal.
Post-treatment recommendations will be given for exercise, feeding plans, and an advice handout will be given.
CCmrt™ is designed to put the body back into balance on all levels, allowing the small animal to achieve optimum helath and therefore performance.
